ABOUT

With a background in ethnology and through photography, video and film I explore the subconscious in human behavior, and where the camera is used to put roles in different perspectives. I work with ambivalence and symbols to understand us humans as part of a larger societal structure and how it involuntarily affects our feelings and actions. Place, memory, and the transience of life is another recurring theme in my practice.

With a starting point from the pre-existing, I collect images and stories to find connections or differences between them, to highlight what often can be overlooked. In many of my work I move between the personal and the universal, between past and present, in a hybrid of the staged and the documentary.
